The answer is……..(drumroll)…….YES!!!  And…………..(another drumroll)……………..it’s CURLY! (as you can see in the picture)

 Now I don’t mean it has a bit of a wave, or that I can put rollers in it and the curls stay.  I mean that it is growing in adorable little ringlets!!! 

For those who don’t know, pre-cancer, I had EXTREMELY straight hair.  It wouldn’t hold curl for anything!  Curly hair is so much fun though, I absolutely love it!  It’s my Audrey Hepburn ‘do (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, watch Roman Holiday).

The above picture was taken while Anna and I were on a tour bus seeing the sights of Nashville.  Speaking of which, Anna and I had a marvelous time and did so much I would love to share with everyone but sadly (for you) I am in the middle of packing for another trip, ergo the Anna trip will have to wait yet again.  Our final destination is Bay Roberts in Newfoundland, although we have stops along the way.  Check it out on a map–it’s pretty much the farthest point east you can go before crossing the Atlantic and landing in Europe. 

I am SO glad that my parents chose exactly now to take a trip into the middle of nowhere.  My biggest fear at the moment is that I will find out the end of the Harry Potter before I have a chance to find out for myself.  I’m taking my little brother to a Harry Potter party at Poor Richard’s tonight, and picking up my copy of HP & DH at 12:01.  My plan is to read all night and then sleep in the car.  Of course, “all night” translates into just a few hours, since we’re leaving very early in the morning.  Well, I need to go finish packing!

Dad, JT and I had been planning on taking a trip to Mexico to see my “family” there (the Mejias with whom I stayed for two months my senior year of high school).  It just wasn’t working out and so I had resigned myself to not going, when my dad gets home from running errands and says, “How fast can you pack?”  We went and had a great time!  We were able to eat at my favorite restaurant (Los Mixes), climb the pyramids of Teotihuacan, tour Aguascalientes and Zacatecas, see the beautiful mountains of Veracruz, the cactus filled deserts around Monterrey, and get way off the beaten path!  Here is One of the thousands of beautiful churches we saw, and here, one of the common sights that gives Mexico its flavor. 

In case you were wondering, yes, we drove, and had no problems.  It was about the same distance as from here to Utah.  I would highly recommend driving, you miss so much if you fly!  We drove through melon country, strawberry country, and pretty much every other fruit you can imagine! 

 Unfortunately, I’m going to have to leave you in suspense for now, I have places to be!!!

Having lived in Kentucky for seven years, it is absolutely shameful that I have never been to the Derby, or to Keeneland for that matter.  Well, I fixed that this year.  I even had a hat.  A BIG one. 

A few days before the Derby I went downtown to Nitro for this event they have every year.  Nitro is a clothing/jewelry shop (with absolutely adorable and unique things to fill your closet) run by a sweet lady by the name of Sherry.  The first lady (of Kentucky) comes and picks out her favorite hat, and they put it on display and give it away the day before Derby.  I won the hat!  Just happening to be downtown when my dad called to tell me, I went by the shop to pick it up.  They were so sweet, I had been having a lot of trouble trying to pick out a hat…the one I wanted was the one they gave away (to me!)!!!  It is absolutely fabulous!  I got so many compliments on it, and it was so fun to wear!  I am definitely doing the Derby…at least the hat part…again!

A while ago, you may remember, I talked on my caringbridge account about meeting Julie Foudy and four other AMAZING girls who played in the WUSA (RIP!)(which incidentally, Mr. Greenberg set up too).  Then I updated and said that Mr. Greenberg (dad’s boss), is “the guy” who is getting it going again.  New news….they officially have EIGHT teams and investors for those teams and……drumroll……Tonya Antonucci and Julie Foudy and probably most of all Bob (Mr. Greenberg) decided to have my dad and I as their guests at the KICKOFF GAME in the SPRING of 2008!!!!!!  Okay okay okay, I know I’m pretty much the luckiest girl ever (allow me to say most BLESSED ever)!!!!  The WUSA is now called the WSII and Tonya Antonucci is the CEO of that.  Can’t wait to meet her, I bet she’s just as awesome as Julie Foudy and Bob!  She has to be considering her job is such a fabulous one!  Oh my GOSH!!!

And you guys, spring of 2008 is when my treatment ends…what an AWESOME way to go out with a bang, don’t you think?

We had quite an…entertaining trip.  And I’m going to sum it up as shortly as I can:  day we were supposed to leave, Suburban broke down, bought a new car, had to get trailer brakes which apparently everybody sold but nobody could install, finally left on Thursday, when, after a few hours, realized that the Durango was getting 3-5 mpg (we were stopping for gas every 90 minutes!).  Get to Idaho, enjoy Easter with Jessica, leave Monday for Ogden where we planned on

exchanging the car.  Picked out the car but the salespeople wanted to go home since it was closing time.  Drove to Aunt Janet’s, and dad drove back to Ogden next day to pick up car.  Had fun, fun, fun in Utah, attended a bridal shower for my cousin, saw my aunts who live in the vicinity, left on Thursday morning for home.  Ran into that massive storm that shut everything down in Kansas…fabulous timing but my was it pretty!  Got home late Saturday afternoon and sat down to catch up and it still feels like I’m stuck in a hamster wheel!

Whew!  Haha, so many things went wrong, seriously, that it’s one of those vacations that goes down in a book and everyone reads and says “yeah right like that ever happens.” 

Can you tell I feel rushed from all my run-on sentences? 

My hair is getting SO LONG!  Well.  It covers my head now anyway.  My eyelashes fell out again though…so I don’t know what’s up with that.  Oh well!  Hope you got a good laugh out of my nonsense!

I’m actually in Idaho right now, visiting Jessica, and tomorrow we’re going down to Provo to find me HOUSING FOR FALL SEMESTER!!!  So exciting, seriously!

This weekend is General Conference (where the Prophet and Apostles, and other General Authorities speak).  It’s an intense weekend, and is one of my favorite weekends of the year (the other is in October, when General Conference happens again).  There are five sessions total.  Two of which, at noon and 4 on Saturday, I will be watching with a friend (Laura) in Louisville.  We decided to have a snack kind of a day, so I went to Williams-Sonoma to see what struck my fancy.  I found this olive oil infused with blue cheese, mission figs, and balsamic vinegar to dip bread in.  Well, when I brought it home I read the back and it suggested using it as a dressing for spinach.  So I tried it, loved it, and will never again use the usual fatty, creamy, totally artery-clogging dressings of yore.

And here are a few of my *favorite* things:

Hog’s Breath–they have the most succulent, tender, mouth-watering ribs I have ever had.  Ever.

The sand–not only is it silky soft, it also glows in the dark.  Amazing.

Finding a new bff–I love finding new friends. 

Wandering around in sweatpants and a t-shirt and not feeling at all inclined to get dressed and not feeling the least bit of remorse for being a bum.

Not thinking about anything for seven straight days–absolutely priceless.

Osaka–another restaurant.  It’s a hibachi grill/sushi bar.  I had the most heavenly rainbow mahi wrapped around a sushi roll.  Indescribable.  At least I think it was called rainbow mahi…but I’ve never heard of rainbow anything except trout.  And that wouldn’t sound tempting in the least in my opinion.

The drive–we went through Tennessee, Alabama, and into Florida.  It was beautiful.  All these redbuds were in bloom and the greenery was so…green!  I love long drives, just staring out the window, lost in the breathtaking beauty of nature!

Now that I’ve discovered Florida, I don’t know that I’ll ever be content with the rough sand of California.  It was the first time I’d ever been to Florida, and before this trip I was quite a loyalist to the west coast.  At the moment I feel rather like California has betrayed me, let me down.  Well, California will always have San Francisco, that’s one things Florida cannot trump.
